I wasn't even sure I was going to the gym tonight. My low back is not cool at the moment and I'm not really sure why. I squatted Friday - no issues. Saturday - no issues. Sunday - lots of issues. I'm thinking that everything just tightened up so much that it cranked me out of alignment. I called the chiropractor today because it wasn't much better and I got an appointment for Thursday for a little snap, crackle & pop. I sat at work, wasting my time, and thinking that I should probably still go to the gym, but just keep everything light and focus on simply moving. I thought it might help loosen me up. Welp, I guess it did, and then some!
The first set was light and I anticipated pain but there really wasn't any. I went through the full ROM and nothing froze up or cramped. I added weight and kept moving it without issue. What I did do, though, was some dead hangs while Frank was lifting. I got a few pops from my back, but I think more so, it just helped keep everything stretched out. I think that I could have even gotten more than the 251, but I knew I was already pushing it. I'm a little bummed that I needed to use a mixed grip but not bummed enough to let it overshadow my happiness at a new PR. Dare I say that I'm actually proud of myself?
My back is starting to tighten up now, I've already taken some ibuprofen and I'll be utilizing my lovely heating pad in a little bit. I know tomorrow will probably be unpleasant and when I go see the Doc on Thursday, he may be less than enthusiastic about my accomplishments, but it's so worth it. So very worth it!
