I haven't quit.
I want to get that right out of the way. Sometimes, though, I need to go quiet. Sometimes, trying to keep everything updated and shared and posted is just all too much. It begins to make it all feel like a chore and when shit starts feeling like a chore, I lose interest. So I go quiet. I keep grinding and working and trying to better myself. I stay the course and forge ahead, but I don't share it, or talk about it or make a "thing" out of it. Quiet perserverence. I haven't even been keeping a written training log. I've just been pushing and enjoying the work.
The only real blip came in the form of being escorted from the gym in an ambulance last week. Frank and I were doing deads and everything was going OK, not great, but OK. The weight felt heavier than it should have though so I only did a few sets. Then I moved on to KB RDL's and walking lunges and got through 3 sets of both of those while Frank was doing good mornings. After I finished my lunges, I hit the GM's to catch up; got through a set of 10 at what was a relatively low weight for me and was wicked winded, I even struggled getting my belt off. I took a seat on one of the boxes and then proceeded to move myself to the floor and then proceeded to ffrantically try to get Frank's attention as everything started to get really quiet and really dim.
I'll spare you from all the stupid, embarrassing details. Needless to say, I am fine and will be much more cautious going forward. Frank is a drill sargent at making me fuel up before we train now.
Anyhoo... I can't promise that there will be more posts. I kind of miss it, but I also kind of like being quiet and just having fun. I missed my goal of being in the power lifting meet this year. That was disappointing, but not surprising. I just wasn't ready. Oh well, like I always say - onwards and upwards!
